How to make cinnamon rolls

Are you looking for a delicious recipe to make cinnamon rolls? Well here we have published our recipe for cinnamon rolls. They key is to take your time. The better the ingredients the better the cinnamon rolls.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 21/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • ½ cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup butter

For the Icing

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2-3 tbsp milk

Instructions: –

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt and yeast.
  2. Slowly add in the warm milk and butter, then add the eggs and mix until well combined. It is important to do this step slowly.
  3. Work with the dough for about 10 minutes. Stop when the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover the dough with clingfilm and let it rise for abour an hour. We have left dough overnight on many occations.
  5. Whilst the dough rises let’s prepare the cinnamon filling. Mix together sugar, cinnamon and butter in a smaller bowl.
  6. Flour a large rectangle surface and roll the dough.
  7. Evenly distribute cinnamon filling evenly over the dough. Leave a small gap around the borders and tightly roll the dough.
  8. Cut the dough into slices. We recommend 1 inch thick. Place these cut slices in a greased baking dish.
  9. Let the cinnamon rolls rise for another 20-30 minutes. We did say you need time.
  10. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. The cinnamon rolls need baking for around 25-30 minutes or until it is golden brown.
  11. Once they are done you must let them cool for a few minutes.
  12. Now your lukewarm cinnamon rolls is ready to be topped with the icing. Mix together sugar, vanilla extract and milk. Adjust the quantities according to your taste.
  13. Spread the icing over the warm cinnamon rolls and enjoy!

The recipe will give you around 13 cinnamon rolls. But it is dependant how thick you slice them. Not only this but you can also add raisins, nuts or anything else to the filling to make your cinnamon rolls perfect for you. Our top tip is make the dough the night before, clingfilm the dough completely, let it rise and take it out the next day. This will give you the best cinnamon rolls.
